Autumn Events for Students in Norwich and Norfolk

With the new student year in full swing, it’s only natural that you’ll want to be out and socialising as much as possible. Meeting new people, making new friends, and finding out what Norwich has to offer are the joys of starting out in a new place, so we’ve compiled a list of events that you could attend in autumn in Norwich and Norfolk.

Whether you’re looking for a good cocktail at a local bar, or prefer to spend your Sunday afternoons in a pumpkin patch, there’s a bit of something for everyone.

Norwich Cocktail Week

Date: 25th September – 4th October

Following on from Norwich Wine Week, Cocktail Week is run by Visit Norwich and billed as a “celebration of Norwich’s vibrant cocktail culture.” With over 40 venues taking part each with their own signature cocktail, you’ll have the chance to find your new favourite drink. From classics to innovative new flavours and mix-ups, signature cocktails are set at only £7.50, with mocktails at £6.

Propaganda at the Adrian Flux Waterfront

Dates: Usually the first Saturday of the month

Having been a staple of Uni student life, Propaganda at the Waterfront continues to be a hot ticket item. Indie Club Night kicks off at 11pm, with a massive indie rave featuring the biggest bangers from Charli XCX to The Killers, plus a ton of UV paint and a laser light show.

Jamie T at The Nick Rayns LCR, UEA

Date: Wednesday, 14th October, 7pm

Celebrating his first album release in four years, Jamie T returns to Norwich to play an intimate gig at the LCR. The indie icon’s latest endeavour, Ghosts (100 Days of Morning), will be available from 9th October, whilst his most recent set lists have featured classics like Zombie, If You Got the Money, and Sheila.

Wild Paths Series

Date: Throughout October and November at Voodoo Daddys

Featuring in a multi-venue guise last year, across a variety of locations, such as medieval churches, dive bars and cinemas, Wild Paths Series features live music and DJ sets at Voodoo Daddys throughout the month of October. Artists announced so far include Bel Cobain, Oscar Jerome and Madeleine.

Norwich Book Festival

Date: 24th – 31st October at the Forum

With author talks, readings, and live drawing sessions, Norwich Book Festival returns for 2026 at the Forum with events for every kind of reader. There’s a campaign message of ‘Go All In’, encouraging people to celebrate reading in all its forms. Featured events include the Traitors star and author Harriet Tyce, TikTok poet David Larbi, and historian Greg Jenner and illustrator Rikin Parekh.

The Pensthorpe Pumpkin Festival

Date: 24th October – 1st November, at Pensthorpe Natural Park

Bigger and better than ever, the Pensthorpe Pumpkin Festival was already a well-loved attraction, with pumpkin picking and a spooky maize maze. They’re also running an ‘After Dark’ adults only event on the evening of Friday, 30th October, featuring a pumpkin carving tent, fire entertainers, street food truck, and a fire pit with marshmallow toasting. Even better, the X29 bus goes direct to Pensthorpe from Castle Meadow.
